San Giorgio Maggiore island as seen from a Venetian water bus

The tiny island of San Giorgio Maggiore (Saint George) is one of the many isles that form the Venice lagoon, in the north-east of Italy. It can be seen from Saint Mark's square and it hosts a cathedral dedicated to the saint that gave the name to the island.
