18th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Altered Images
Sandhill Cranes
A pair of cranes successfully raised two young at a local conservancy. They are now almost fully grown. In this image, the two youngsters had ventured into one of the ponds to feed. The fall colors and setting sun created a warm and inviting atmosphere that I tried to capture in this image.
