Saving a Dolphin

On a beautiful sunny April afternoon in San Diego, California, beachgoers enjoyed casual activities along the coastline of Torrey Pine State Beaches. I was on the beach to shoot a pair of peregrine falcons that have a nest on the cliffs. When I heard a commotion behind me, I turned around and saw people rush to the right side of me. I couldn’t see what it’s happening but instinctively I just went to check it out. Apparently, people spotted a dolphin stranded on the beach, looking posh and distressed. Beachgoers rushed to the dolphin, attempting to rescue it back into the ocean. However, the strong waves pushed the dolphin back, preventing it from swimming back to sea. After several attempts, they finally managed to rescue the dolphin and return it to the ocean. During the process I used my camera to photograph and video record the actions. I felt lucky to witness people’s good hearts, and glad a dolphin was saved.
