Saying Goodbye to a Young Ruby Throated Hummingbird

This is a young male Ruby Throated Hummingbird taking a short break on a tree branch. It is only a few days from its very first migration from Virginia to Mexico (and possibilty as far south as Colombia). We will have to wait until next Spring to see him again. By then he will have a full set of red feathers covering his throat area.
