I met Scar in 2/2017 in Masai Mara, Kenya. I only got to see him briefly, as it was well after sunset, but the few minutes I spent photographing him left a huge impression on me. His black mane and the many scars that “paint” his body are just background for the most impressive part – the scar over his right eye. Yet, at least for me, these scars don’t detract from his beauty; they add to it, for you can tell that this guy has lived and battled and survived.
