Monsoon season in North India is especially famous for dragonfly sightings. I found this beautiful Scarlet Skimmer, also known as Ruddy Marsh Skimmer, flying around a fresh water pond. Since dragonflies often choose a single branch or tall grass leaf to sit, I waited patiently as it flew around and finally landed on a nearby dry grass leaf. It presented a beautiful green background that was far enough to give a pleasing bokeh while the dragon fly itself was quite sharp and striking against that background.
