While looking for compositions with a pod of orcas along the coast of Washington State in the San Juan Islands, I began to find similar objects inside the mist of their blows. I could not help but see two horses in this one. On the left was a rearing horse, and on the right, a bust of a horse. Both are looking to the right. The experience of looking back through the images reminds me of when I was a child looking up into the clouds to find familiar objects in their shapes. Orcas and wild horses have so much in common. They are both meant to run free.
