This self portrait was taken in June/2021. After spending lockdown away from my family, I decided to go back to my home country, Brazil, to mind my mental health at the beginning of 2021 - I was feeling extremely depressed and couldn't control my own thoughts. I returned to Ireland in March/2021 while still in treatment for depression, quite afraid of what could happen. This image was created a few months after the treatment started, when I finally felt like myself again. It came from a place of hope and happiness.
