While celebrating 8 years of marriage and 2 years of being cancer free on a trip to east Texas, I stopped to observe myself in the mirror. I wasn't noticing any physical appearance, but who I had become dealing with cancer and hopefully, being a cancer survivor. I liked what I saw, enhanced by the "candlelight" and wanted this reminder of where I had been and where I am going -- a reminder of thankfulness, gratitude, and humbleness.
