Selfless Service
Caption - Selfless Service A Sikh volunteer serves cool running water to thirsty onlookers, outside the entrance of Golden Temple, Amritsar. Doing 'Seva' is a central Sikh tenet; all Sikhs are encouraged by their Guru (Guru Granth Sahib) to perform Seva or Selfless Service. All Sikhs should be prepared to give up some of their time, talents and energy to help others. Sikhism requires service to Waheguru (God). People from all faiths, and those who do not profess any faith, are welcomed in Sikh gurdwaras.
