Semipalmated Sandpiper standing in chaos
Every May, thousands of shorebirds migrate to the Delaware Bay to fuel up on Horseshoe Crab eggs before continuing their journey north. Among these are Semipalmated Sandpipers which gather in large numbers and feed along the shore. In this shot, one Semipalmated Sandpiper has stopped in the center of a massive and chaotic feeding frenzy.
