16th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Shades of Grey
Near Mt. Baker, Washington, this photo was taken during a period of thick smoke from distant forest fires. This smoke shrouded nearby mountains and completely covered all distant mountains. However, it left a nice and grey silouette of a mountain ranges.
