Shades of Pink

This photograph of a middle aged woman going to work was captured infront of the HawaMahal, Jaipur; which was built for the queens of Jaipur to observe the everyday life in the street without being seen, since they have to obey strict purdah (face cover). This photograph depicts the change in tradition with woman coming out of the zinx, carrying out the everyday activites to fulfill the needs of the family and shoulders the responsibility of carrying the legacy to the younger generations.
