Shaving Lumber
Rough-hewn wood is shaved smooth and flat in a workshop at old Fort Langley. The fort is a reconstruction of an earlier fort that was constructed in the mid 18th century as a trading post with the local native first nations peoples. Finished staves are then assembled in a circular jig to make a barrel. This age-old way of making barrels dates back to the mid 18th century.
