Shepherdstown Train Station
In 1870, $8,000 of bond money was given to the Shenandoah Valley Railroad on the condition that railroad car shops and a train maintenance yard be built-in Shepherdstown. The railway was built with this understanding. A few years later SVRR torn down the buildings, kept the money, and suggested that they fulfilled the fine-print of the agreement. This a 2020 photo of that very first train station. As of 2006, the station has been restored and is being used commercially. In this image, I added my artistic narrative by utilizing a photo effect that gives the image a hand-drawn watercolor look.
