The traditional shepherd's cottages on Big Pasture Plateau (Velika Planina) in Slovenia. The plateau lies in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps and measures around 5,8 square kilometers. It's avarage elevation is 1,500 meters above sea level. The traditional cottages were and in part still are used by shepherds who are taking care of cattle grazing on the plateau's mountain pastures. Many cottages now offer tourist accomodations, traditional food and drinks.
