Shoe upper controller

History of Partizanske, Slovakia, and its surroundings is closely attached to shoe making industry, which was brought here by famous Tomas Bata. Today, very few people outside of the region know that even though most of the production ceased years ago, there are still some companies producing shoes. This photograph is part of a series in which I was documenting individuals who work in this industry and individual parts of the production process. The worker in this portrait check shoe uppers before they continue to a production line where soles are attached to them. Picture was taken in Bosany, Slovakia.
