I took this photo in Sa Pa, in the Lào Cai Province, during my semester abroad in Vietnam. A few friends and I decided to book a tour with a local guide to walk through some of the villages in and around Sa Pa, when walking through this particular village, I came across this young boy. His eyes seemed to hold the answers to the problems of the entire world, that I was fixated on trying to understand his gaze. I always wanted to remember this moment, which is why I snapped a photo. He continued to watch me curiously until I was out of sight.
