Sierra Winter
Hiking in the eastern Sierra is spectacular from the minute one leaves the trailhead. With the first winter snow, the crowds leave, mosquitoes perish, and a sense of calm settles over the peaks and lakes. This is when I start exploring the miles of trail protected as public land.
