Signs of Time

O Arco da Memória (The Arc of Memory) is an ancient monument that we do not know the exact date. The legend says it was the Cistercian monks who built it in the twelfth century to mark the administrative division of its territory: a kind of gateway to their domains. However, at that time, the Gothic style prevailed and all the arches had to be a broken one and not a perfectly round arc like this one. Anyway, the monument will have been rebuilt in 1830 and maybe then the approach of a new style.
