Sintra
Keyhole doors in a watchtower at Sintra, Portugal, framed by olive trees. I liked how the olive trees, one of the holy trinity of Portuguese life (wine, bread, olives) framed this ancient sentinel. I marveled at the symmetry, and advanced architectural designs employed centuries ago, during the Moorish occupation of Portugal. For a moment, I felt transported through the keyhole doorways, into another time and place.
