Skalanes is an independent field research center that hosts university students interested in the natural sciences. There students can research their interests in the field such as the arctic tern population, arctic fox habitats, or the interesting geology of the Icelandic landscape. They also sometimes host a group of artists who use this field research center to build their own research of their artistic practice.
