My partner took me to the skate park to meet up with his friends. Together they spent the afternoon practicing, showing off new tricks and learned techniques. Intimidated by this unfamiliar environment, I sat on some benches and took pictures with my film camera. I documented strangers and friends. I observed their interactions and shared passion for the sport. Most bond over skating and dedicate several hours each day of the week to practice at the park. Each portrait became more intimate and personal than the last. The one displayed is of my partner resting on the bench towards the end of the evening.
