Skimming at the Crack of Dawn

A few black skimmers had a migratory stopover in Aruba in early 2020. Every time they visit Aruba's wetlands, I'd like to watch these distinctive birds. Most of the time they will just sit on the shore, relaxed and grouped together. The best chance to see them in action is late in the afternoon or early in the morning. For this photo I woke up long before sunrise, hoping the skimmers would still be present. I was lucky and could watch them cutting the water with their extended lower mandible.
