Skink in the Rafters

I had just finished a 20 kilometre hike in the Southern Flinders Ranges whilst on a two week hiking adventure, and could barely stand anymore. I really needed a shower and some carbohydrates. But then I saw a sign to a ruined homestead and couldn't help myself in seeking out artistic photographs (usually involving wildlife). Inside the shell of a house you could see how it had been built in the 1800s and nearly completely deteriorated. There was no roof and the temperatures in summer there are scorching (high 40s Celsius) so the wooden rafters had real texture. Couldn't believe my luck when a couple of skinks went running about so I had a photo shoot. They are very fast and don't like to be seen by humans so good photos were challenging with a mobile phone.
