SKINK PORTRAIT

Skinks are types of lizards. This skink is called Eutropis carinata. It is found in the Indian sub-continent. I photographed this specimen, almost a foot long, under some bushes near a tea garden in Valparais, Anaimalai Tiger Reserve, which is part of the Western Ghats in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
