Slam Dunk

The Critically Endangered Brown-headed Spider Monkey is one of the top 25 most threatened primates in the world. It can only be found in the tree tops of the Ecuadorian Chocó. The threats to this species are heavy habitat loss, hunting, and illegal wildlife trade. This species usually finds me. I was looking for some tanagers and this individual starting making a fuss letting me know that the fruit was taken. It came down quite close so I snapped a couple shots and kept moving. Twenty meters down the trail I ran into the rest of the group. Critically Endangered (IUCN 3.1)[2]
