Sleeping Honu

There are places in Hawaii where turtles come up on the beach (for reasons other than laying eggs) and since covid they have been coming up around sunset at Poipu Beach, Kauai, and staying until the middle of the night. Maybe it's a peaceful, shark-free place to sleep. The tourists have returned, but the turtles are still coming up on the beach and several locals have been roping off the area to protect the turtles from obnoxious tourists. We kept our distance.
