Following the recommendation of a friend, my brother and I traveled from Nevada City, California to Lake Tahoe via Old Donner Pass Road. This image facing southwest perfectly captures the snow-covered granite peaks of the Sierra Nevadas at Donner Pass. Donner Lake is just out of frame to the left.
