Snow Monkey Park - Oh this is warm!
On our recent trip to Japan, we made a day trip from Tokyo to the Jigokudani Monkey Park, better known as Snow Monkey Park, located at the base of Joshinetsu Kogen National Park, Japan. Home to a troop of Japanese macaques, these monkeys observed human behavior from a guesthouse called Korakukan that had an outdoor onsen (hot spring). Being very curious, the macaques started imitating the behavior which drew attention the the visiting public. This is the only place that monkeys exhibit this hot tub experience! Since the early 1960's, visitors from around the world have made the trek to experience the bathing primates.
