Chico is a wild chipmunk that was born last spring. I rescued her out of my window well & released her. It took me about two weeks to get her to eat out of my hand. But after that, Chico got too comfortable with me! I couldn’t read the newspaper outside without her jumping on it, stealing blueberries out of my cereal bowl & following me around the backyard, wanting peanuts of course. It was amazing to see how much this little critter trusted me. That’s when I got the idea about taking pictures of Chico with props. All I had to do was provide the prop, peanuts & it was like she was posing for me. I always joke that Chico is a part-time chipmunk model that works for peanuts! I shared these photos with family & friends. Chico provided smiles all summer long! My oldest daughter, Kate, insisted that I start an instagram account for Chico so other people could enjoy my photos too. It brings me so much joy when I get messages from people all over the world saying that my little Chico brings them smiles & makes their day brighter. Quite the feat for a small wild chipmunk from Kawartha lakes, Ontario.
