Snowy Egret observed on the shores of the Bay of Fundy in Atlantic Canada

Snowy Egrets are rarely seen in Atlantic Canada, except when they wander here after breeding in northern New England. So, I was overjoyed to have a few sightings of this elegant bird on the shores of the Bay of Fundy in the spring of 2019. This photograph shows a Snowy Egret on the edge of a Bay of Fundy salt marsh, its bright yellow eyes searching intently for a tasty afternoon treat. With its snow white plumage, bright yellow feet, black legs and long black and yellow beak it was a thrilling sight to watch .
