I took this shot from the terrace of our 14-th story apartment in Sofia, Bulgaria. This is one of the tall (20 stories) socialist-era apartment buildings in the neighborhood. Looking out the window that day, I noticed the beautiful snowy peaks of the nearby Vitosha mountain rising right over the top of the unsightly, decaying building. The contrast was very unusual and I ran to get my camera, so I could document the scene.
