Soldier Boy

While in our local park practicing with my new zoom lens I heard very determined, purposeful footsteps and I was drawn to them. I raced ahead to capture a shot of the person behind the steps. My thoughts were confirmed when this young man stepped into view. He was a Serviceman. I raised my camera from about 30' behind him and shot. I caught him just as he entered a tunnel area and was concerned the image might be too dark. In the end I loved how he was silhouetted because it felt like the silhouette represented all those who protect and serve our great country. Those the serve currently and those we have lost. I look at this shot, remember all of their sacrifices and feel so grateful.
