Somethings never change

A 150 years later they're still doing it the same way. In the 1800's if you wanted to get people and supplies into the back country of Montana. You did it by mule. On this day my brother and I had flown into a small airstrip in the back country of Montana to hike to see a waterfall there. The hike from the airstrip to the waterfall was less than a mile. We quickly found the waterfall and well perhaps not the most spectacular of waterfalls we still enjoyed finding it. As we sat in the shade on a fallen log. I heard from behind us a familiar sound of a large animal "snorting". And yes, for a brief second my mind went to the thought of a large brown predator turning us into lunch. Fortunately and obviously it wasn't. But as I turned to look and much to our surprise a mule string comes out of nowhere. Three strings of mules and horses being taken into the back country by three wranglers. And they were now stopping to chat either. One of life's little unexpected pleasures.
