Songzanlin Temple under the blue sky and white clouds
Songzanlin Monastery in Shangri-La, Yunnan Province, China is the second largest temple in Tibetan Buddhism. It was built in 1683 and belongs to the Gelug Sect. Known as the "Little Potala Palace". The original building was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution in 1966. The current building was rebuilt on the original site of the ruins starting in 1982. The Monastery combines Tibetan and Chinese architectural features. The temple has 6 main buildings. Against the backdrop of blue sky and white clouds, it looks majestic.
