"Sparkling". Great grandmother trying fireworks for the first time. Kerala, India

The glow of the sparkler she held was outdone by the sparkling smile of this great grandmother. The rare sparkle in her eye belied her steady decent into dememtia. Her pristine white cotton 'chatta-mundu' is a piece of traditional sartorial elegance that is rapidly disappearing into oblivion along with the older generation of Syrian Christians in Kerala.
