18th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Altered Images
Spinning in space

I was gardening one day when two hot air balloons took off in the field next to my house. They came straight over my patio so I took the opportunity to lie on my back on the sitting wall for an underneath view of the ballon. The photo reminded me so much of the ever-present beach ball image on our computers, which is a symbol of the fastest way to explore currently. I liked that the oldest way to fly and the newest were combined in this one image.
