Spirit Falls in the Snow

Spirit Falls is a striking waterfall well known to the locals of the Pacific Northwest. Technically on private property, public access to the location has been a subject of debate- the landowners not wanting the liability of the relatively precarious hike, but outdoor enthusiasts pushing for the establishment of an official trail. This photograph was taken while public access was allowed, and at the start of a large snowstorm that, shortly afterward, closed all road access along the Columbia River Gorge.
