Spirit of Asakusa

Senso-ji, literally translating to "Shallow Grass Temple" is the name of the temple indicated in this photo, is Tokyo's oldest Buddhist temple, dating back to the early 7th century. Located in the city of Asakusa within Tokyo, the legend is that two fisherman built the temple in honor of a statue of Kannon, the deity of mercy, that they discovered in the river.
