Spirit of Tochopa

On the rim of the Grand Canyon there was a snow storm. The roads in and out of the National Park had been closed. The park seemed empty. When we left the South Rim on our decent into the Canyon the sky was gray and the view was white. The temperature was in the single degrees. This photo was taken deep inside the Canyon floor as we made our way to the Colorado River. The sun was radiant and warm. There was no one in sight. It was the first time in such a touristy location that I was reminded who the land really belonged to.
