I've always loved the supernatural and believe that everything in the natural world is alive and awake. I felt it so strongly in this area of extremely old woodland in Dartmoor and I think it creeps through in this picture perfectly. Dartmoor as a whole is an ancient landscape and is famous for its folklore; the ghosts, fairies, light and dark entities that supposedly roam the woodlands. I added the painted effect because it just brings out a level of surrealness and emphasises the mystical feeling even more.
