SPOT-BILLED PELICAN TAKING-OFF

One of the benefits of staying in Bangalore is the proximity to natural wonders such as the Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary. As there is a healthy population of marsh corcodiles at Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary, the pelicans there have modified their behaviour. Being large birds, they need a bit of effort during take-off from water. In view of the plentiful crocs, pelicans at Ranganathittu have resorted to skimming the water to quench their thirst rather than swimming. This low key image explores the ability of us outdoor photographers in respect of showing the art in nature.
