20th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest People
Sri Lanka Revolution

I was in transit on a bus between Ella and Jaffna in a small town called Anuradapura, when I saw this protest. It wasn't anything new because Sri Lanka was and still is going through one of it's worst crisis ever. People have no gas, they make massive lines to get some petrol in gas stations ans most times they go back with nothing, there are electicity shutdowns every day for up to 14 (!) hours, and with all this, the president of the country decided to run away to the maldives. People are extremely unhappy and protesting on the streets to get their country and their lifes back
