I took this shot because something about the way the pale tapered wheat stalks contrasted the bent up rusty blue metal caught my attention. I found it to be a soothing image that resonated a gentle beauty. Later, I came to see this image as evocative of the American heartland though I photographed it in Dufur, Oregon.
