Stampede

I captured this image of a group of horses sprinting through the surf at sunrise on the beach in Camargue. Camargue is an area in the southern region of Provence, France along the Mediterranean. It consists primarily of marshes and wetlands from the Rhone River delta. It is famous for its black bulls and all white horses. The horses of Camargue are a traditional French breed of working horse indigenous to the area that live in semi-feral conditions in the marshes. They are smaller horses known for their stamina, agility and hardiness. The horses are born with black/brown hair over black skin, but the hair turns white as they mature.
