18th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest The American Experience

In June, a portion of 16th St NW in Washington DC was renamed Black Lives Matter Plaza in response to the death of George Floyd and many others. As a result, BLM Plaza became a common place to meet at the start or end of the protests this summer.
