A Ukrainian soldier looks out of a bombed-out building into no man's land. This particular line of high rise buildings were once among the nicest in the town, looking over the city of Donetsk. Since the war, they have acted as a barrier, absorbing most of the bombs and incoming gunfire, shielding the old town behind them.
