From the series 'When Gazes Meet'. This project explores self-objectification, with a focus on women. Women are socialized to act and respond to situations in certain ways defined by gender roles, and have had to endure an inward gaze powered by self-surveillance; thereby shaping a woman’s characteristics so she can be accepted as ‘normal’. This causes psychological consequences and mental health risks in victims. This is an on-going project exploring these processes by which women come to internalize and accept the beliefs that society projects upon them.
