Because the camera movement matched the pace of the stationary flamingos below, the birds on the ground appear sharp, while the individuals taking flight turned into glowing streaks of motion across the frame. Their wings created star-like patterns of pink and white light—fleeting shapes that can only be recorded through precise panning during a slow shutter exposure.
